The workshops are mostly newspapers, aimed at various skill levels from beginner to professional workshops. All of them involve an assessment and the provision of a certificate endorsed by our staff and faculty

 


ENVALL: Workshop Building Dry Stone Walls

Workshop Building Dry Stone Walls is done in village Envall , located in the Vall Fosca (Pirineos). In spring 2010 was held the VII Workshop in Envall, which generally have a duration of 2-4 day intensive.

The workshop explains and analyzes the various construction systems of stone walls, taking special emphasis on the traditional Dry Pyrenees area, ie without cement.

The workshop also addresses other aspects of traditional rural construction, such as obtaining mortars "bioclimatic" lime from lime kilns and manuals, or timber structures for large areas, for
haystack and pitched roofs.

Experimental model workshop

The esperimentales model workshop aims to analyze and make models, experimenting with new materials and spatial concepts.

It is a review of the history of the models, to finish assessing the characteristics of each one of the most conservative to the most transgressive.

We analyze the properties of materials such as steel, zinc, gelatin, mortars, cements and concretes, plastics and acrylics. In turn, classifies different types of tools and adhesive tape.

The workshops are focused on a specific topic, eg: MODELS OF CONCRETE. The workshop is on the one hand and their theoretical classes as long as the realization of a model, will be presented by the professor and his assistants.

Igloo-building workshop

The igloo-building workshop is conducted periodically every winter in some locations in the Catalan Pyrenees.

Its objective is to analyze and practice building system used by mountaineers to find shelter in adverse weather in the mountains. The experience is very educational and easy for participants, while allowing us to enjoy a great day in the mountains.

It will be noted in the theoretical classes the extreme importance of knowing first hand the agents learn how to find weather and snow quality for the main construction. Simple errors can threaten the collapse initiation of the attempt.
