GLOBAL OBJECTIVE _ Technical Office is a platform of professionals formed for the realization of coexistent projects with the environment.
Professional services include:
- Bioclimatic architecture
- Energy efficiency
- Green Building Technology
- Environmental Consultancy
- Sustainable Urbanism
Our working method is focused in studying all the natural preexistences and the possible human effects in the interventions, involving solutions that look for the reduction of negative impacts in the ecosystems, a sustainable use of energy and the equilibrium of matter cycles.
Energy
Inside the 400.000 billion stars that are part of the Milky Way galaxy, one of them is the Sun. The ecosystems that populate the surface of our planet and the depths of our seas depend exclusively on a source of energy that feeds and sustains it: The solar energy. The valuable equilibrium between the solar energy, the atmosphere composition and the biologic activity on the biosphere - reached after millions of years of interdependence – can be endangered with the interventions made by only one of its life forms.
Today the climate change constitutes the mayor environmental threat in this century. Even though the difference of weather is constituted by a natural phenomenon, the main issue rests in its variation that is being accelerated as a consequence of the increase of greenhouse effect gases emissions from human activity.
To face the challenge of climate change is supposed to dramatically decrease CO2 emissions associated to energy consumption, which implies a reduction in important measures of the excessive consumption level registered in the last years and the formation of a basis for a new energetic culture, based in three important ways:
-Energy saving
- Energy efficiency.
- The use of renewable energetic resources
Water
The Earth’s surface is 70% formed by water. Nevertheless, only 3% is fresh water, and approximately half of it is withheld in form of ice in the polar caps. In that way we can only take 1.5% of that total for the consumption of living beings.
The lack of precipitations and the excessive consumption forces us to value the water as a essential common good, but scarce today. The interest in sustainable development takes us to adopt measures that regulate the efficient water consumption in buildings and land where they are carried out.
In the strategic line of water cycle are proposed several improvements in preservation tecniques, collection, storage, treatment and reuse of that source. These aspects can be grouped in two main areas to strengthen.
-EFFICIENCY IN CONSUMPTION
-REUSE AND RECYCLING SYSTEM
Matter
The overexploitation of the biosphere results in its continued degradation, not only decreasing its ability to produce essential resources, but also its resilience.
Material consumption in buildings and urban design creates a significant environmental impact associated primarily with the consumption of resources, energy and water in the phases of extraction, manufacturing and transportation. Also causes impacts resulting from both the extraction of materials and waste generated.
Thus, to reduce these impacts is essential, first, to optimize the amount of material used, and secondly, to use materials associated with low environmental impact, either because it optimizes the use of resources or because their management and extraction is controlled and carried out under conditions that minimize the generation of impacts on the environment.
It is necessary to conceive the project in an environmentally responsible at all stages:
- CONSTRUCTION
- LIFE
- DEMOLITION AND WASTE MANAGEMENT
Territory and Mobility
After the exile of the economic criteria for location of the first liberalism, the zonification and dispersed city thesis that have shaped the modern movement called for major urban developments throughout the second half of the twentieth century. The development and proposed economic placed Mobility as a value in itself, an alleged vertiginous mirror of a misunderstood contemporarity, assuming or ignoring the externalization of environmental costs involving the displacements forced by the dispersed city.
However, the mobility and its environmental impact is one of the factors of growth in energy demand more out of control in major population centers. The intent of any urban or territorial proposal should focus on city models with more efficient flows, reinterpreting the hybridization and overlap of the compact city uses as a source of wealth, trying simultaneously to reduce the need to travel and to enhance serendipity
Social Cohesion
Throughout history, different civilizations have disappeared for lack of capacity to sustainably manage natural resources on which they depended. Among the possible causes are attributed the lack of prior knowledge to prevent the catastrophe occurs, accompanied by a social structure, political composition, ideology or worldview created, the prevailing interest, converted into an inability to change course to evade blocking danger.
It is up to society, understood as all its citizens organized around freely chosen standards, taking steps to address the circumstances surrounding climate change and depletion of the ecosphere, changing consumer habits and managing natural resources more efficiently and conscious.
Biodiversity
Biodiversity is the richness of life forms of a territory, the result of a historical process interacting with various genetic, environmental, developmental and external factors. As life has been forcing its way into our planet, the biodiversity has been rising and with it the variety and multitude of different ecosystems and increasingly complex, always in interdependence with the climatic conditions of each area.
Human activity on the territory in the form of agricultural and urban transformation can seriously simplify the process of exchange of information between people, increasing the rate of entropy tends toward death system.
Any analysis must address the environment interaction from two perspectives:
- The city as a natural ecosystem with a high degree of artificiality, enhancing the presence of flora and fauna, their interaction among themselves and with the surrounding ecosystems, controlling your metabolism and keep the balance from the biological point of view.
- The city as ecosystem information, information sharing stage of the human species in their relationships and roles, ensuring the diversity of activities and the complexity index.
